The BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation has been developed in response to increasing demand from graduates from the HND in Sports Therapy for a programme which will allow them to develop a broader understanding of the prevention and management of injury and disease in an exercise and physical activity context. By providing an opportunity for HND Sports Therapy graduates to further their education journey we will foster intellectual curiosity, support widening access to higher education and embrace ambition.

Key features
Placements:
There are two practice-based learning modules which comprise a minimum of 200 hours of practice experience. This will build on the 200 hours of practice-based learning achieved during the HND Sports Therapy programme to give an overall of 400 hours placement experience over the 4 year programme.
Professional registration:
Successful graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT).

Admission criteria
The minimum requirement for entry into year 3 of the BSc (hons) Sports Rehabilitation will normally be as follows:
• A HND in Sports Therapy achieved within the previous 2 years with at least an A in the HNC graded unit and an A in HND graded unit.
• A satisfactory personal statement outlining the candidate’s:
â–ª skills, knowledge and values in relation to a graduate sports rehabilitator;
â–ª current or recent experience relevant to the field;
â–ª ambitions in the field of sports rehabilitation.
English language requirement
Applicants must be able to communicate in English to a standard that is equivalent to level 6.0 of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no element below 5.5. Applicants who can demonstrate a minimum of two years of recent educational instruction in English may be exempt from taking the IELTS test.
Criminal conviction checks
Admission to the BSc (hons) Sports Rehabilitation is dependent on a satisfactory formal Protection of Vulnerable Groups check at the enhanced level. These are conducted via Disclosure Scotland, the Criminal Records Bureau in England and Wales, or the Police Service of Northern Ireland. A Certificate of Good Conduct from an Embassy, Consulate or National Police Force of other countries will be required.
A scheme update specific for ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ will be required in order to transition into year 4.
Health status and disability
The University has an obligation to ensure that graduates the BSc (hons) Sports Rehabilitation are fit to practise. This means we need to consider whether students have a long-term health condition or disability that could prevent them from practising safely without supervision. A self-declaration of health status is required to determine any support required in the practice environment. Both the colleges and ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ will consider information disclosed in line with the ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ policy on the admission of disabled applicants, as set out in the Admission Regulations.
Non-standard entry
Applicants are required to have recently completed the HND in Sports Therapy and non-standard entry will have been considered at the point of entry to the HND. No further adjustments for non-standard entry will be made for entry to the BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation.
Recognition of Prior Learning
No accreditation of prior experiential learning will be permitted. Candidates must have achieved the HND in Sports Therapy within the previous two years and no entry with advanced standing is permitted.
