Melvin House
This is a photo of Melvin House. Situated on Edinburgh鈥檚 Rothesay Terrace, it was donated to Edinburgh College of Domestic Science by Lady Harriet Jane Findlay, and used as a student halls of residence.
Melvin House was built by Lady Harriet鈥檚 husband, Sir John Richie Findlay, founder of The Scotsman newspaper. Upon taking on ownership by ECDS, it was named after Alice Melvin, the college bursar and used to provide residential accommodation for students.
